To fulfil its aim of boosting people’s understanding of energy systems, Walking with Energy offers interactive events that – over a 90-minute period – typically comprise five elements:
Welcome and introduction to WWE
Overview of Implicit Association Tests (IATs)
Collective viewing of a short film
Panel discussion with 3-5 people who bring diverse perspectives on the technology, relevant policy, environmental aspects and social/cultural elements
Q&A with audience members
To support the research aspect of WWE, we ask participants to complete a ‘snappy’ visual exercise (Implicit Association Test) that quickly assesses basic knowledge and attitudes about energy.
By doing the test before and after the event, your responses will help us evaluate whether the opportunity to learn more about energy influences your perceptions.
Scroll down to register for scheduled dates and access the IAT. Or drop us a line to learn more about hosting an event: firstname.lastname@example.org
With a virtual walk through the SYSAV Waste-to-Energy Plant in Malmö, Sweden, this event will explore the pros and cons of transforming everyday waste – from food scraps to packaging, appliances and building materials – into electricity and heat for local distribution. Originally built in response to the oil crisis of the 1970s, the plant has a long history of innovation to boost efficiency and address environmental concerns.
